Following Nigerian musician Star Tekno Mile’s recent performance, which took place on September 9 in Nairobi, which left many Kenyan fans in fury, as they condemned it, organizers to the event have come out to clear up the Air. In an interview on Hot 96, a Kenyan Radio station, more was revealed.
“We find it harder taking the blame for Tekno’s performance, because he also swindled us. We had agreed that he would perform for a minimum of 45 to 1 hour, which he didn’t,” explained Mwaki Tele, a representative from Hype Entertainment, one of the show’s organizers.
One of the main concerns of this event was the ‘Value for VIP’ section, which most Kenyans complained about. Besides the closeness to the VIP section, which was also not enjoyed by those who had paid for it. “There are posts over social media that are against how the event’s organisation went, which of course we are to blame about. We apologize for glitches cited,” he explains.
Breached Agreement with Organizers
“He refused to come for rehearsals, and soundcheck, which shocked us,” Mwaki explains.
As organizers, they feel the artists didn’t keep up his end,
“He was in breach of several agreements, which is something we are to look into,”he explained.
Organizers claim how the Pana singer was very disrespectful to sponsors and partners by missing out on most media interviews. “He really swindled the Kenyan public, and show sponsors who were all in support of this event,” states Mwaki.
