Uganda Nordics 50th Independence pleriminary celebrations begin

Advance preparations for the Uganda 50^th independence Celebrations in the Nordics that will be held in Stockholm Sweden have set off.

Preliminary awareness events organized by the Uganda Diaspora in Sweden kick off with a Uganda at 50 preparatory grill and dance day event set to take place on the 28^th of July 2012 at Husbygården and Husbykonsthallen.

According to the chairman Organizing Committee Uganda at 50 Nordics Mr. Eddie Bazira the preparatory events are intended to create awareness and involve the Ugandan community and friends of Uganda about the importance of the forth coming Uganda 50^th anniversary Independence Celebrations that will be held in Sweden.

Bazira says this is one of several other events that are set to be organized in the run up to the official celebrations in October

This year is Uganda’s Golden Jubilee. The Uganda Diaspora in Nordic countries is jointly marking the Golden Jubilee in a week of a variety of events in Stockholm 1st – 7th October under the theme “BE PROUD TO BE UGANDAN”. A high powered delegation including government representative, leaders of opposition, successful business women and men, youths, elders, cultural, religious leaders and guest Uganda Diaspora will converge in Stockholm- the Heart of Nordic Countries.

Unlike the past Uganda Independence Day celebrations in Sweden this years is expected to be different with weeklong activities that will involve conferences and seminars, Exhibitions, Family Events, The Mr. and Miss Uganda Contests, sport and Musical Concerts.
