Ugandan Musician, Joseph Mayanja aka. Jose chameleon has pitched camp at the Tanzanian high commission in Uganda in protest of his passport illegally being withheld by a Tanzanian music promoter.
Chameleon came to the high commission this morning in sandals with a small mattress and a Uganda flag and vowed not to leave the premises until his passport which was confiscated by Tanzanian promoter is returned to him.
Chameleon’s passport and another two of his colleges were confiscated by a one Eric Shigongo CEO of GLOBAL PUBLISHERS the company that claims to have hired the artist through his manager whom he paid 3500$ for Jose to perform in Tanzania
As it turns out Jose says Mr Shishingo paid the money to a conman called George who posed as the manager to the artist.

I WAS HIRED BY GLOBAL PUBLISHERS A TANZANIAN COMPANY, TO PERFORM AT THE NATIONAL STADIUM ON THE 7th July 2012.
I PERFORMED AS THE CONTRACT AGREED! ON SUNDAY 8th ONE ERIC SHIGONGO THE CEO GLOBAL PUBLISHERS CONFISCATED MY PASSPORT ALLEGING MY MANAGER HAD SWINDLED HIS 3500$, WHICH IN REAL SENSE WAS SWINDLED BY A KAMPALA CONMAN CALLED GEORGE.
I WAS ASSISTED BY THE UGANDAN EMBASSY IN DAR EL SALAAM, WHO GAVE ME A TEMPORARY DOCUMENT TO RETURN ME HOME.
ON RETURN TO UGANDA I HUNTED FOR THE CONMAN, ARRESTED HIM AND HANDED HIM OVER TO POLICE, WHO FREED HIM ON CONDITIONS I DON’T KNOW!
I EXPLAINED TO THE TANZANIAN AMBASSADOR AT THE TANZANIAN HIGH COMMISSION IN UGANDA FOR ASSISTANCE BUT SEEMS IN VAIN.
I HAVE UPCOMING PERFORMANCES IN
SOUTH AFRICA, ENGLAND, BELGIUM, NORWAY, SWEDEN, CANADA ETC!
SO IS ERIC SHIGONGO ABOVE THE LAW TO KEEP MY PASSPORT ILLEGALY?
AM I LIABLE TO HIS NEGLEGANCE THAT HE TRUSTED A CONMAN?
IS IT FAIR THAT AN UNAUTHORIZED TANZANIAN CITZEN CAN KEEP MY PASSPORT FOR OVER A MONTH?
