Ugamuziki Radio brings you the Gentle and smooth voiced Ugandan reggae artist George Mulindwa the voice behind the wonder hit Sophia.
You could have heard it (Sophia) somewhere and were left wondering who the Ugandan is echoing a message many abroad would like to tell someone back home in Uganda pestering them to join them abroad.
Well the man is none other than US based Ugandan Musician George Mulindwa (pic) a man who started his music career over 10 years back in Uganda.
Once referred to as the Ugandan Lucky Dube (RIP) after the south African Reggae Musician, Mulindwa has worked his way up to get out of that shell from years back into the celebrated artist he is today.
He has worked with legendary musicians like Eli Wamala (RIP), teamed up with Uganda’s best male vocalist Titan Takuba and best producer Timothy Kizito. He is credited for eight solid albums and one more “Nsubiiza” still in production by Bostons based HLT Reggae band nominated for five and won four World Music Awards
As George tells Ugamuziki radio “Sophia” has hands on touch by renowned international music producers George William Kiberu, Blaise Tongelo and Germany based producer Vicent Othieno, The album Sophia also features “Lwaki (Why)” a song that was composed and performed by George Muklindwa and George William Kiberu (together known as G&G) as a special tribute to his sister Joan Mulindwa who passed on in 2009
He has also of late released a list of equally good to the ear music including songs like Yogera Manye, Omutima, sigwe weka,Ebaluwa and Kiliza all playing on Ugamuziki Radio.

After 23yrs away from uganda i went back home to see my ailing father.one friday morning i was listening to radio simba and they played a song that had the exact words that i had just shared withmy sister in law a night before.Ssebo it sounded like omuyimbi so true.The singer had not only heard what we had talked with my in law but he confirmed sent the message well to the place i wanted it to go.The presenter ,Omulangira ndausi ,said the singer was based in the USA ,but he never told us where we could find the album. Next thing i googled the artistes name GEORGE MULINDWA and instead it i got a song called LWAKI which he wrote in remembrance of his sister joan mulindwa an actress who diedin the US.That song too can make you cry.Finally i got the whole album online and as soon as you put the cd in the player ,you dont skip a song,every song is gdNaye ye omuyimbi ayimbira wa?Lwaki ye tetuwulirako gyakoledde show?Kale awandiika ebigambo ebya makulu nze oluyimba lwe olwasinga okunkuba baluyita LEKA SSI KA BUFUMBO. lunoonye oluwulirize bulungi.E kilara MUFUMBO?

You have just heard this man sing,but am so happy to let you know that i attende his last show in uganda with titan takuba a Pioneer mall ,right in that parking space.
It was so full of energy ,you could see real stars in the making ,am so surprised that all this time thes guys have been quiet.George used to sing some of lucky dubes songs and you wonder how he mastered the voice and the movements of such a reggae giant.George go on .Naye nammwe mulwaawo okutuwaayo obuyimba .
Naye ye sophia agenda kukutwala wala nnyo.It has everything that makes a hit song. melody,lyrics,and a very well balanced vocal perfomance that reveals the singers intentions. I live in finland and listen to radio simba and ugamuziki ,so whereever you will be i will come.
