Nigerian musician Runtown’s latest music album entitled Ghetto University is one, which is on top notch. A compilation of flavored hits, the album has continuously attracted more lovers of Afro-pop music, as well as raising the artist’s profile.
“Ghetto University simply means ‘School of Hard Knocks‘. It simply is thanking God for everything he has given me so far,” he explains.
Although not born from the Ghetto, he admits how the his music is inspired by the Ghetto, where he grew familiar too. The musician admits how his music graduated from the Ghetto to the world.
With each track of different stature, the album completely give a listener a quite different aspect about Runtown. The album is a body of works by various producers and musicians. Sheezy, a producer was resourceful behind Ghetto University track, which was quite a touch after several errands.
Even when he first produced the Lagos 2 Kampala song, Runtown felt stuck somewhere about it, hence calling out for Producer Merry Berry, “We did quite a couple of other songs with his, since we spent a lot of time together, ” explains the artist.
On the song Money Bag, Runtown also worked with Mozambique’s Producer by El Puto first, then America’s Dj Khaled. He also worked with producer Pheelz. He worked on Bend and Pause with Wizkid, Phyno, Davido, South Africa’s rapper Anatii.
Until next year, Runtown is currently busy onto his worldwide tour dubbed Runtown Experience.
